Nigeria Recorded 338 News Cases Of COVID-19

According to the Nigeria Centre foror Disease Control(NCDC), 338 news cases of the novel COVID-19 was recorded on Sunday, 17 May.

In a tweet on its handle on Sunday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) had said 177 of the new cases were discovered in Lagos, 64 in Kano, 21 in Abuja, 16 in Rivers,11 in Oyo,14 in Plateau, 4 in Kaduna and Jigawa, 9 in Katsina, 3 in Abia, Borno and Bauchi, 2 in Delta Akwa Ibom and Gombe and finally 1 in Sokoto and Kebbi.

The COVID-19 infection has killed 300,000 since its emergence in China in December, 2019. According to tally compiled AFP at 7pm on Sunday.

At least 4,680,000 cases of this pandemic have been recorded across 196 countries and territories of which at least 1,670,000 have been considered recovered.

The tally by AFP from the data collected from National Authorities and Information from the World Health Organization (WHO), is only giving an insight to the actual number of cases in the world because some countries are only testing serious cases.

The United State as the highest number of death toll, as per this pandemic, of 89,207 from 1,478,241 confirmed cases of which 268,376 are said to have recovered.

The Britain is directly following the United State in term of death toll of 34,636 out of 243,303 confirmed cases in the country.

Italy is also running after Britain with 31,908 out of 255,435 discovered cases. Followed by France with 28,108 deaths from 179,569 cases. 

Spain is also in a similar condition of 27650 deaths from 231,350 cases. China, excluding Hong Kong and Macau has 4,634 death record from this Coronavirus pandemic and 82,947 discovered cases of which 78,227 have recovered.

Madagascar and Nepal on Saturday, 16 May, announced their first COVID-19 deaths.
