Rivers State Governor, Wike Demolished Two Hotels In The State

The governor said in a tweet in his handle “One thing i fail to understand is why we must attach emotions when expressly exercising what the law states. A law was passed in the state and people who break the law NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE must feel the penalties that the law provides. Even PDP members”.

Two hotels, Protest Hotel in Alode and Etemete Hotel in One, both in Eleme Local Government in Rivers State, allegedly demolished by the state government for violating the lockdown order in the state.

They were demolished three days after Governor Wike sent officials of the Local Government Task Force to identify hotels operating during the lockdown hotels operating during the lockdown for demolition.

He also warned that those who fail to comply with the government's directives on the measures put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the state will face the consequences.
