Pregnant COVID-19 Patient Gave Birth In Lagos, 67 Fully Recovered COVID-19 patient



A pregnant COVID-19 patient just successfully gave birth to a baby boy at Gbagada Isolation Centre.

This was confirmed on Saturday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Government, Gboyega Akosile.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu also said on his tweeter handle.

“I bring you from our isolation facilities. Today, a pregnant COVID-19 patient was delivered of a baby boy at Gbagada Isolation Cenre. Both mother and daughter are doing well.”

According to Gboyega Akosile, the governor said the feat is another validation of the government's position that it will stamp out the Coronavirus from the state.

“Today’s achievement is a pointer that our strategies in Lagos State are working and yielding the desired results. It is also a sign of victory and motivation for us as we lust ahead in the battle against the Coronavirus pandemic.”

The governor also tweeted:

“Also, 67 fully recovered #COVID19 patients; 22 females and 45 males including 3 foreign nationals - 2 Indians and a Chinese were discharged to join the society.”

“The patients; 24 from the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 22 from Onikan, 11 from Agidingbi, 2 from Lekki and 8 from Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Isolation Centres were discharged after testing negative to #COVID19 in two consecutive readings.”

 “As our front line health workers record successes in the battle against #COVID19, we urge citizens to adhere strictly to public health directives as this is the only way we can break the chain of transmission of the infection.”

The total number of discharged patients in Lagos State stands at 608.

However, Lagosian are also enjoined to support the government in its drive to get rid of the state of the COVID-19 by following all its directives on the various safety protocols.
