River State Governor, Nyeson Wike, said that vehicles seized in the state for the violation of lockdown policy by owners be auctioned

He said thus on Thursday in an interview after he went round to monitor the of compliance of the residents of the state with the lockdown.


He also added that some people don't believe in the existence of Coronavirus and those arrested will face the wrath of the law.


Those arrested will face the wrath of the law. Nobody is above the law. We will not allow anyone to sabotage our efforts to protect our people, he added

Some of those arrested are very important people, who were adjudged not to be on essential duties, but were moving around with their police escorts.

At the Elekahia Isolation Centre, over 200people were arrested and over 20 vehicles were seized by different teams enforcing the lockdown.
